For one day, I went to Pune to explore the rich culturalheritage. If you take the Mumbai-Pune highway, then Pune is about 3 hours away.The
first stop ideally would be the Shaniwar Wada Fort made famous by the BajiraoMastani movie And the cracking on-screen chemistry of Deepika andRanveer. If you are interested in history then this is an ideal journey.
A 30-minute drive
from this fort built by Peshwa Baji Rao I, I came to the Aga Khan Palace, which
is considered one of the most majestic buildings in India.
This palace also served as a prison for Mahatma Gandhi during the IndianIndependence movement. If you are
tired of all trips, then go to the Osho International Meditation Center and
spend some time in meditation. I liked my stay with Tribo in Mumbai, so I decided to
stay with the Treebo Hotel in Pune.
With all modernization, Pune still retains its old charm
and the air is less than pollution compared to Mumbai. After standing at all places to see my checklist, I
visited a place
called for some authentic Marathi dishes before going to the
airport.
As
for Mumbai, the colonial appeal, the delicious street food and the urbanculture made for a heady combination and has attracted me to Mumbai time and
again. Next time, I plan for an extended stay to explore nooks and corners of
